Charlie was rescued from Arlington Shelter off of the euthanasia list just hours before he was to be put to death. He wasn't on the adoptable list because he was scared and shy at the shelter, where he evidently did not eat much while he was there and prior. He was very underweight. Bindi was rescued from Arlington Animal Services in April 2012. She had severe demodex mange, horribly long claws and was very emaciated. The shelter listed her as 'aggressive' so her chances of getting out alive with that label and looking like she did were slim. Clara has been in foster care nearly 22 months now and would love a home of her very own. She is a dream girl, and has been a long term foster through no fault of her own. Her foster family adores her. Unfortunately for this wonderful dog, two of my older big girls will not accept Clara into my pack of 6 and I have to keep her separated behind a baby gate so Clara would do best as an only dog or with 1 or 2 well adjusted dogs (my girls had been abused and have some issues of their own). This breaks my heart because I know how much Clara just wants to be where everyone else is. If it wasn't for this problem, I would keep Clara myself...I just love her so much. Also, Clara does not like cats. Clara loves to run and would like a yard with enough room for her to stretch her legs. She can also climb a fence so a high fence is necessary. She does not like extreme heat or cold so during the heat of the summer and bitter cold of winter she would appreciate not being kept outside for too long. Clara is a black lab/pit mix between 1 1/2 - 2 years old and weighs 65 lbs. She has been fully vetted, spayed, housebroken and up to date on her shots and heartworm meds. Although she has been crate trained, I do not ever lock her in it anymore, she does just fine if I am gone for long periods of time and overnight. Hutch is one amazing little fella. He is nearly full grown at approx 42 pounds. His mama was 37 pounds full grown. Hutch was born May 2012 and has been in foster care with one of the foundation directors since he was 2 months old. He gets along with all dogs that he has met thus far from Pitties to Chihuahuas. He acts as a 'surrogate papa' to the newborn medical foster and is very gentle with him. He does great with housebreaking, and will potty everytime you let him outside. He is very smart, loyal, affectionate and playful. He is shy at first but warms up once trust is built and he knows he is in safe loving hands. He is ...
